Senses Cultural Academy of Health
Senses Cultural Academy of Health provides culturally appropriate information and guidance to Northern Californian refugee parents and caregivers from the Middle East, and support to professionals in the U.S. and abroad who are working to help children with special developmental needs such as autism, fragile X syndrome, 22q syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other types of delays in development or learning. Many of these syndromes or disorders result in intellectual disabilities and sometimes serious behavior problems. We are a catalyst for positive change in the lives of refugee families navigating these disabilities.
Senses Cultural is dedicated to creating a more peaceful and healthy environment by fostering understanding through sharing ideas and the arts across the globe. We cultivate a national and international network of artists, scholars and cultural advocates. In addition, we produce events that expose their work to audiences beyond their own geographic and social borders. Senses Cultural offers opportunities to collaborate, sponsor, host and promote projects that fulfill our common goals. Together we encourage projects that create cross-cultural understanding and tolerance. To visit the main Senses Cultural website, click here: www.sensescultural.org
